Open learning or "Tinkering"Jan 09, 2009
This is the most innovative, well designed, environmentally/durable made building toy I have seen with an exception to Kapla. The swiss makers have put a lot of thought and energy into this and it shows. I got it for my 4 year old (still a little young for it) for xmas, and I was totally pleased. Unlike other marble runs, which are much less expensive, this one challenges the child with the most possibilities both in the interchangeable nature of the uniform block pieces, but also in that large portions of a run can be in the form of tunnels which are out of sight of the child. All other marble runs have the marble in plain view, which works more like a race track than a puzzle or system which Cuboro excels at. That said, if you are a parent trying to offer marble runs as an alternative to playing with matchbox car tracks--cuboro might disappoint.
This game made me think about the needed changes in schooling put forth by an an expert on learning. Cuboro is all about tinkering:
All the pseudo-educational talk aside, Cuboro is a lot of FUN!

Far more than just a toySep 03, 2010

Cuboro marble run pieces are extremely well-made and durable, great fun to assemble (and disassemble), and to roll marbles on. This really is a wonderfully challenging and exciting toy for children, and one that will grow with them. One great consolation of it's high price is that it will last well and be good for generations of children to enjoy.

Price jump and sticker shock!Jul 06, 2011

I am a therapist that works with children primarily utilizing play therapy techniques to assist them. I have been looking forward for months now to purchase both the Cuboro Standard and Cuboro Duo to use in therapy with my clients. I was literally going to buy them tomorrow (07/07/2011) until I saw that the price for these already overpriced toys have gone up by a full 3rd!!
The Cuboro Standard was just until last week $214.99 but is now $279.90, a difference of $64.91! The Cuboro Duo was $159.99 but is now $209.90, a difference of $49.91. That's a combined increase of $114.82 for these two educational toys! There is a far more important lesson to give to a child than an educational toy, and that is teaching them the value of a dollar! Would I pay the price of a Porche for a Chevy Cruze?? Of course not, and I simply cannot justify purchasing this product at it's new incredibly overpriced sticker value.
There's simply a limit and Cuboro products have surpassed mine. I wonder how much their sales are going to now dip with all this overpricing. As I said, this is too bad as I had previously been looking so forward to buying them.

Great qualityJan 07, 2013
I purchased this set for my preschool group (ages 3-5). I am very impressed with the quality of the materials. So far I have had really good experiences with this set. It does what I wanted it to...it causes the children to think,to use engineering skills to create marble runs, to problem solve when the run doesn't work properly, and to work together to find solutions. As they were working they began thinking about other materials in the school which could be used to extend the runs, etc. so it is definitely sparking creativity and out-of-the-box thinking. Totally satisfied.

Great toyJun 10, 2011
This is a great toy for both my 4yr-old boy and 8yr-old girl. In fact, mom who doesn't usually play toys with the kids, plays together with this little blocks and marbles. This is one of the most expensive toys I got; however, I really feel it's worth it.
